Kassav is apparently finally scheduled in Yaoundé for March

After an aborted concert in December, it is said that Kassav will finally be in Yaoundé in March? Is it true?

The famous music group Kassav should have performed on 22 December 2016 at the Palais des Sports in Yaoundé. Several generations of fans were waiting for a zouk and creole concert. The event was finally postponed to March for reasons which remain unclear.

The organisers accused their partner airline of having omitted bookings for some members of the Kassav team. In the end, will Kassav truly be in Cameroon in March? The schedule of the mythical group of Jacob Desvarieux has no mention of it; neither on their official Facebook page, nor on their website.

The only performances of the current quintet (they are 5) in March will be in the United Kingdom. Their programme specifically announces concerts on Friday 3 March 2017 in Birmingham and the following day in London. Aside from other concert dates in May and August 2017, there is no mention of Cameroon whatsoever.

Those who bought tickets for the Palais des sports of Yaoundé in December, sold at FCfa 10,000, 30,000 and 50,000 can in all evidence keep them as souvenirs. Freddy Etame, the boss at Sa’ali Africa, initiator of the aborted December concert has kept mum since then.
