Yaoundé en fête (Ya-Fe), the big annual exhibition taking place in Cameroon’s capital should have started on December 16, 2017, but, it has not. However, unlike the rumors claim, it has not been canceled, not yet at least. According to a statement published on December 18, 2017, by Olivier Essomba, director of Ya-Fe, it has just been relocated.
“For security reasons, the high authorities instructed us to delocalize Ya-Fe from the Yaondé sports palace. We were authorized to consider the possibility of holding the 12th edition of Yaoundé’s exhibition at Boulevard du 20-Mai”, Olivier Essomba explained. “We are working on it and are contacting the partners of Ya-Fe to do what is possible. More information will be provided soon”, he added.
In twelve editions, this is the first time Ya-Fe is that much perturbed. It is a convivial event where families can entertain themselves with various games including rides for both kids and adults (chair swing ride, bumper cars, etc).
Ya-Fe is also an occasion for good bargains with discounts and exceptional offers by Yaoundé’s merchants, some large companies, and renowned craftsmen from the Far-North region.
