This increase is due to the 2017 Finance bill in force since 1st January.

What was only a rumour is now in application since 1 January 2017: the stamp price moved from FCfa 200 to 600. This in compliance with the provisions in the 2017 Finance bill.

A tour in some Yaoundé town halls, in the capital of Cameroon, confirms this increase in the price of the municipal stamp. At the Efoulan town hall, for example, patrons can read the following notice posted by the municipal executive team: “while awaiting the issuance of new documents showing the value of FCfa 600, three stamps of FCfa 200 will be used on certificates in the civil registrar be submitted for signature by the administrative authorities, the mayor and his deputies”. It is necessary to specify that per the 2017 Finance bill indicates that for A4 documents, the price of the municipal stamp moved from FCfa 400 to 1,000. Same for larger formats.

The increase in the price of the municipal stamp comes after the one for the passport, some time ago. Because, until 2015 the issuance, renewal and extension of ordinary passports was subjected to the payment of a stamp of FCfa 50,000. Starting from 1 January 2017, the tariff applicable for the issuance, renewal and extension of ordinary passports was set at FCfa 75,000.
