Many Cameroonians have been reporting for some weeks now that they have received, through social media, job offers from the office of the Managing Director of the national airline, Cameroon Airlines Coorp. “Camair-Co is recruiting. Call this number 69******”, indicates one of the notices.
A situation which caught the attention of the Managing Director (MD) of the transport company, Ernest Dikoum. In a communiqué published on 2 November 2016, he “informs the general public that for some time now, ill-intentioned individuals have been impersonating senior officials of the national company, via telephone calls and social networks”. And that “the ulterior motive of these individuals being to tarnish the image of the Camair-Co through malicious acts, any person contacted by these supposed representatives of the national airline company is advised to proceed with utmost vigilance”.
Ernest Dikoum, denounces “these irresponsible acts”, and warns those committing these acts of the legal actions they may face. He “informs that all recruitments are suspended until further notice”.
