A new price grid has been published on March 1, 2019, by the SABC.

It is no more a rumor as it was in December 2018. The price of beer has been increased today March 1, 2019, in Cameroon.

A new price grid has been published by Société anonyme des brasseries du Cameroun (Sabc). Looking at this price grid, beer price has risen from XAF500 to XAF550. Sabc explains that this price change is due to the 2019 finance bill.

In the finance bill, the government reduced the tax rebates on brewery products to 10%. This compelled brewers to change prices.

In December 2018, the trade minister Luc Magloire Atangana declared that “the price of drinks will remain the same till the publication of the circular on budget implementation by January 15, 2019.”
