Some people claim that the hotel chain will lay off its staff this month (November 2019). Really?

Has Hilton Yaoundé really announced its closure? The answer is no, even if some argue the opposite on social networks.

In fact, during our checks, we traced the origin of this misunderstanding. It is rather Hilton Ndjamena in Chad, which will be closed in the coming days.

In a letter dated 30 October 2019, the Chadian subsidiary of the hotel group wrote the following message: “Dear supplier, we regret to inform you that our owner company is forced to take, to his greatest regret, the very difficult and unpleasant decision to close our establishment, Hilton Ndjamena, as of Thursday, November 21st, 2019. We are deeply sad about this decision and the serious consequences it will cause for you.

Hilton Ndjamena indicates that till the closure date, it will provide the usual services. It also commits to honouring all payments and promises that its teams will be present after the hotel closes to ensure the finalization of matters in progress.
