Some claim that the Nigerian singer Wizkid was invited and paid by the presidency. Really ?

Several media and social network users claim that Nigerian artist Wizkid came to Cameroon at the invitation of the Presidency. Some of them even mention fabulous sums of money that would have been spent on this occasion.

The information is firmly denied by the Presidency. Wizkid came to Cameroon at the invitation of the owner of the restaurant “The Famous” Bistro Café in Yaoundé, for the New Year's Eve.

Certainly, Brenda Biya is one of the artist’s fans and Wizkid was invited to Palais de l'Unité for a courtesy visit but, in no case was this meeting financed by Cameroonian taxpayers’ money, the Presidency assures. Nor was any money given to the artist by the presidential family.
