The supply disruption observed at some of Total service stations is said to be the consequence of this fuel shortage. True?

In the week of September 3, 2018, there were disruptions in fuel distribution at some of Total service stations in Douala.

Unable to fill their tanks, many clients concluded that there was fuel shortage in Cameroon. But, this is not the case.

There are no fuel supply or availability problems in the country”, said Gabriel Ebokolo Eteki, the deputy managing director of Cameroon’s national oil company SCDP, in a release published on September 7, 2018.

According to SCDP’s management, each marketer has to ensure that fuel is available in their distribution network.  “ The government always makes sure everyone complies with this requirement”, the official added.

"SCDP has initiated urgent measures to remedy the situation as far as marketers with temporary challenges are concerned", Gabriel Ebokolo Eteki said.
