Is it true that when you sneeze, someone is thinking about you?

According to a superstition, when you sneeze, it means that a relative or a loved one is thinking about you.

In Cameroon, when you sneeze, it means someone is surely thinking of you. In good terms for ofcourse. That is why you can notice people smiling after uncontrolled sneezing. Indeed, they are convinced that their mother, father, uncle, friend or lover is thinking about them. The metaphysical connection is then established by this uncommon means. In reply, the one who sneezed usually smiles and proclaims : “I am alive but problems have got me stuck here”.

When you hear someone say this, don’t think that it is the monologue of a madman. No, it is the answer to an invisible man who has been the cause of these sneezing.

However, unlike what Cameroonians think, science has another explanation for it.

According to them, a sneeze, or sternutation, is a semi-autonomous, convulsive expulsion of air from the lungs through the nose and mouth, usually caused by foreign particles irritating the nasal mucosa.

This explains the fact that some people with a sensitive nose can sneeze continually when they wake up in the morning.

Sneezing is also a sign of flu or cold. In that case, you’d better treat yourself.
