Dear Cameroonians, you will still need a visa to enter the United States

It’s said that Cameroon has joined the US Visa Waiver Program (VWP). South Africa, Argentina, Uruguay, Kenya, Jamaica, Hong Kong, Seychelles, Malawi, and Georgia are also said to have joined the program. Rumors even suggest that, when this measure takes effect, citizens from these countries will be entitled to a stay of up to 180 days for tourism or business purposes only in the United States. Of course it’s a fake info!!

Cameroon has never been included in the US Visa Waiver Program and is not currently undertaking any moves to join it. The proof is on the website of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Service. Cameroon does not appear on the list of countries eligible for the visa waiver program. “This is not true! Malaysia faced the same fake info on May 1st , the US Embassy in Cameroon said.

The US Visa Waiver Program is administered by the Department of Homeland Security in consultation with the US Department of State. This program allows eligible citizens or nationals of designated countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business purposes for stays of 90 days or less, without a prior visa.
