Documents shared on social media announce that 100 lecturers will be recruited to this university this year. Is it true?

Yaoundé University II has launched the recruitment of 100 PhD holders, according to a document with the university’s header being shared on social media.

The said document is signed by the university’s chancellor Yaoundé II, Adolphe Minkoa She and, unlike what some people may think, it is not fake news or a job scam. By the way, it has been published on the university’s official Facebook page.

Let’s note that this recruitment falls within the framework of the “special recruitment” of 2,000 lecturers ordered by president Biya on November 13, 2018. This special recruitment is open to PhD holders living in Cameroon or abroad. In that framework, 1,000 lecturers will be recruited this year, 500 in 2020 and 500 in 2021.

It is aimed at providing a concrete response to the pressing need for lecturers with the creation of new universities in the country.
