Beware! Cameroon’s civil aviation authority is not recruiting 310 safety agents

Paru le vendredi, 13 mars 2020 12:45

A document shared on social networks claims that Cameroon’s civil aviation authority is hiring agents with at least the BEPC and Baccalaureate degrees. The document’s title is Communiqué n000010 relative to the recruitment of 310 security agents at the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) for the year 2020 - BEPC and Baccalaureate level.

According to the post, applications were to be sent latest by February 20, 2020, at 4 PM, to this mail: Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser.. Moreover, applicants have been asked to pay around XOF35,000 as additional fees to apply for the positions.

Beware! This is a scam. First off, the signature, stamp and reference number on the document have been photoshopped. Next, is the email address used: it is unprofessional and its extension is not that of CCAA’s which is ccaa.aero. Last, the head office of the CCAA released on February 12 a statement denying the information.

The CCAA “is in no manner connected to the recruitment notice that is being relayed on social networks, urging holders of BEPC and Baccalaureate to apply to be hired as one of 310 agents sought by the CCAA.” The aviation authority hence calls potential victims of the scam to more caution and prudence. They can also get reliable information at the CCAA’s headquarters or on its website (www.ccaa.aero). The body concluded by warning perpetrators of such scams that it “will hunt them down and bring them to competent legal authorities.”
