A scam claims that Dovv is hiring female salespersons

On social networks, a statement supposedly written by the managing director of mass retailer Dovv, and signed by its deputy director, is currently circulating. The document states that the Dovv supermarkets are hiring female salespersonsaged between 20 and 34 years for their end-of-year operations.

The statement which displays the firm's logo and stamp reads: “Applications, including a cover letter, addressed to the managing director of Dovv Distribution SARL, a CV, a copy of the national ID card, and a full picture, all scanned, must be sent to Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser.» latest by next November 28.” The truth is that this document is fake. “This document doesn't come from us.” It is a scam, says Dovv's management.

However, while it is true that Dovv is presently hiring salespersons for the end of the year, applications are not sent via mail but directly submitted at the firm's head office in Bastos, Yaoundé. A list of documents to add to the applications is pasted at the head office. In addition to the list given in the fake statement, applicants must add a copy of their certificates, an extract of the N°3 criminal record (three months or less), a 4x4 picture, and if possible a copy of the driving license or work permit. Also, while the name attributed to the signee (Noubissi D Victor) on the fake document happens to be that of one of Dovv's executives, the signature doesn't match that name, anonymous sources revealed.
