Some people have been pretending to work at the chamber of trade and industry of Cameroon (CCIMA), to scam foreign firms operating or looking to be established in the country.

According to the Embassy of France, the fraudsters in effect claim to be agents of the CCIMA's office for permits. They ask their targets to pay for the import/export permits and failing to do so prevents investors from operating in the country. The only loophole of this well-elaborated scam is that there is no ''Office for permits'' at the CCIMA!
