On February 28, 2018, Joseph Le, chairman of the executive board of SOPECAM (Société de presse et d'éditions du Cameroun), corrected the claim of some national and international media that published “false revelations” on Paul Biya’s trips from 1982 to these days.
According to these media, the revelations are based on Cameroon Tribune’s archives, compiled by SOPECAM. The chairman explained that to date, SOPECAM has not yet completed the platform which will allow access to these archives online. So, they couldn’t possibly access the archives. He also revealed that the hard copy of these files are stored in a secured place and no access had been granted for any investigation. Moreover, SOPECAM has not been associated with any investigation on the head of state’s trips abroad, he said.
