A fake document about a Presidency recruitment has been shared since December 17, 2018

A fake statement attributed to the Presidency of the Republic of Cameroon has been shared since December 17, 2018. The document, already denounced by the Presidency's civil cabinet, informs young Cameroonians both women and men who wish to pursue a career in the services of the Presidency of the Republic about a special recruitment of 200 workers.

In detail, it required 100 workers for the General Secretariat, 50 for the Civil Cabinet, 38 for the Grand Chancellery of the National Orders and 12 for the management of the Unit Palace, residences and presidential pavilions. The recruitment is supposed to be done on Monday, January 7, 2019, on the basis of a file review by the Presidency's human resources observation services.

The scammers require, among other things, XAF150,000 as application fees, to be deposited in the orange Money account at the telephone number 6 99 89 68 75 of a certain Evina Eric Valentin. The latter is allegedly a state inspector for the presidency of the Republic. However, this is fake.

Further, XAF55,000 is requested for “in-depth medical examinations” fees, to be deposited on the same account.
