Some people say that the rule is to pay money in order to be recruited or to quicken the processing time of one's file in the public administration. Is that so?

Despite the sensitizations of the Ministry of Public Service (Minfopra) in Cameroon, Joseph LE, the head of this ministerial department noted in a briefing note of January 7, 2020, that he receives recurrent complaints from victims of scams perpetrated by mean individuals.

The minister reveals that the victims are lured by false promises of success in competitions or accelerated processing of their administrative files against undue compensation. “The Minfopra wishes to recall that the admission to a competition or the processing of an administrative file should in no case be subject to any bargaining because the public service is free (…) it is not a matter of bargaining,” said Mr. LE.

The minister, therefore, calls on users to observe the utmost caution and not to give in to the temptation of easy solutions. He recommends referring any information related to the Ministry of Public Service only to his official personal Facebook page (www.facebook.com/josephLE-official) and to the ministry’s website (www.minfopra.gov.cm).
