According to a local newspaper, the net is pulling tighter around Hamadou Dawa, of the Ngaoundéré urban Community, following accusations of misappropriation. Really?

In its Thursday 29 September 2016 edition, the private daily Emergence reported that Hamadou Dawa, the government’s delegate to the Ngaoundéré Urban Community, in Adamaoua, will have to report in the coming days to the Special Criminal Court (TCS) to account for the supposed misappropriation of FCfa 620 million, claimed by the Ministry of Finance.

False, according to Mr Hamadou and the Ministry of Finance.

In an interview published on 13 October 2016 in the private biweekly L’œil du Sahel, the government delegate declared that correspondence from the Budget Control Unit Auditing Quality of Expenditure in the Ministry of Finance, accusing him does not exist. “In any case, no such letter has been addressed to me from this unit in the Ministry of Finance”, he specified.

From the Ministry of Finance, the Budget Control and Operations Office declares never having written or signed a letter indicating that the government delegate was accused of any misappropriation. “These are rumours, just a pack of lies. All these are stories invented against me by detractors based on a document which has now been found to be totally fake”, concludes Hamadou Dawa.
