Naseri Paul Bea, governor of the central region informs those who invested money in the organization named “Mission d’intégration et de développement pour l’Afrique” (Mida) that some malicious individuals are planning a fundraising operation for a lobbying to ensure that the funds subscribed by those investors are refunded.
CFA3,000 is required from each of those investors on the misleading pretext that their refund is conditioned to the payment of such fee, the governor informs. He further warns the authors of such scheme and invites the subscribers to trust the government in the resolution of the MIDA case.
Let’s remind that the MIDA case started in April 2018 when the said organization set a Ponzi scheme promising CFA70,000 within less than a month to young Cameroonians who would invest CFA12,500. Thanks to this strategy, the organizers were able to collect billions but many subscribers did not receive the promised returns. The government then stepped in and the case is actually being resolved.
