“Welcome, guide and inform tourists; provide quality information through the design, production, collection, and distribution of promotional materials such as leaflets, brochures, maps, and catalogs; give tourists a real taste of the destination by promoting local and regional products.”
This will be the mission of the Tourism Information Bureau (BIT), whose creation was confirmed on September 25, 2020, by the signing of an agreement between the Yaoundé Urban Community (CUY) and the Association of Cameroonian Tourist Guides (AGTC).
CUY will supervise this public establishment, while its operation will be entrusted to a technical partner to be selected.
In preparation for the creation of the center, AGTC took the opportunity of the celebration of World Tourism Day on September 27 to organize a training session for its members. This training mainly focused on the techniques of reception and guidance in tourism.
