French Companies Aim to "Make A Mark" at PROMOTE 2024 Business Expo

Twenty French companies will showcase their expertise at this year's International Business, SME, and Partnership Exhibition, Yaoundé (Promote) business expo, seeking to strengthen their presence in a competitive market.

While "know-how" is an objective, the French Embassy in Cameroon acknowledges a broader aim: "making a mark" and "staying in the game" amid competition from other multinationals, the embassy said in a statement.

French President Emmanuel Macron, during his 2022 visit to Yaoundé, called for French companies to "be better, more efficient, and work together towards greater market transparency" to maintain their presence.

The 20 participating companies plan to leverage thematic conferences and workshops hosted by the French Embassy during the expo to raise their profile and attract potential partners.

Macron's speech, now a cornerstone of France's new diplomatic vision presented by Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna last year, underscores Paris' commitment to supporting its companies abroad, particularly in Africa.
