Aéroports du Cameroun is seeking partners to improve care for passengers with reduced mobility. The company said services to passengers with reduced mobility are provided by agents who are not specifically trained for these services.

To comply with the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), ADC has just launched a call for tenders to select organizations specialized in the assistance of passengers with reduced mobility and the evacuation of patients at the international airports of Douala and Yaoundé-Nsimalen.

In addition to assisting passengers with reduced mobility, the organizations selected will have to organize the evacuation of sick or injured passengers from the airport to an approved hospital establishment, take care of, and complete police and health formalities for passengers who die at the airport or on the aircraft.

They will also be responsible for taking charge of the dead bodies in the event of a death in the terminal or on the aircraft. Their terms of reference also provide for the medical transport from the airport to the hospital centers of any ADC personnel who are victims of an illness or accident.
