The 15 largest companies in Cameroon generated more than CFA3,800 billion in sales at the end of 2021. According to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), this represents “35.2% of the overall turnover generated by all modern businesses in the country over the period”. The figure is also 15.2% higher than that posted by the top 15 the previous year.
Societe Generale leads the ranking with an undisclosed amount. INS however indicated that the banking group had an increase of 54%. Total Cameroun SA, brewer SABC, Eneo, and Tradex made the Top 5, in order. Drops in turnovers, INS points out, came from Tradex (-21% YoY) Perenco Cameroun SA, 8th (-37% YoY), the National Refining Company (Sonara), 12th (-75% YoY), Sodecoton, 13th (-18.9% YoY), and Olam Cam, 10th (-3.9%).
The Top 15 also includes Orange (6th), MTN (7th), Congelcam (9th), Camtel (11th), Sodecoton (13th), Sorepco (14th), and Afriland First Bank (15th).
