FEICOM’s financial assistance committee recently approved CFAF11.2 billion in funding for 71 projects in 62 municipalities. It also approved CFAF3.8 billion for projects submitted by four regions. Namely, Adamaoua gets CFAF1 billion, the North CFAF830 million, the Northwest CFAF1 billion, and the West CFAF935 million. 

"The new financing granted by these two bodies covers the 10 regions of our country, and brings to CFAF24 billion the amount of Feicom support to communes and regions since the start of the current financial year," indicated Feicom Director General Philippe Camille Akoa in a press release signed on July 20.

This senior official welcomes the fact that the crisis-hit regions of the North-West and South-West have applied for and received funding in the amounts of CFAF1.7 billion and 1.2 billion respectively. For the director general, this marks the gradual return of peace in those two regions.  

The projects approved concern the development of basic socio-economic infrastructures in the health, education, sports, leisure, industry, and services sectors, etc.
