"The government of Cameroon and development partners, through the National Institute of Statistics (INS), intend to update their data by conducting the third economic census (RGE)." For that purpose, on July 25, 2023, the INS issued a call for applications to recruit 700 enumerators on a fixed 2-month contract.
The recruited agents will survey all the economic entities in the towns/neighborhoods assigned to each of them, the INS explains.
The Institute justifies this operation by the need to "have detailed information on economic entities [...] operating on the national territory, thus informing the elaboration and monitoring-evaluation of development policies focused on entrepreneurship."
This census will be the third of its kind. The first general business census was carried out in 2009, and the second in 2016.
