Bafoussam will host, from December 11 to 17, 2023, the first edition of REDEO, a trade show organized by the Western Regional Council to showcase the West region. One of the ultimate goals of the trade show is to promote the development of the local productive fabric. To this end, during the trade show, organizers will hold a three-day strategic reflection on the processing of local products. 

The decision to prioritize the processing of local products is purposeful. The Western Regional Council strongly believes that both agriculture and the processing of local products serve as the primary catalysts for the region's economy. However, unlike agriculture, individuals investing in the processing of local products may not always possess the necessary training for this activity. In that context, the Regional Council sees the strategic reflection as a "framework for sharing theoretical and practical knowledge on local development, to enable greater effectiveness and efficiency in the management of socio-economic activities". It even plans a call for applications inviting bids from those already operating in the processing of local products and those wishing to invest in the segment. 

According to the REDEO 2023 presentation file, those selected will receive support to help them build their skills, knowledge, expertise, and interpersonal skills. At least 120 economic agents will be trained by the end of the event.
