An ad circulating on social media suggests that the Port Authority of Douala (PAD) is currently recruiting 135 logistics and transport managers. According to the ad, applicants should hold a baccalaureate and higher technician's certificate in the transport and logistics field. All applications should be submitted to rtc.pad @my.com.

Applicants should be Cameroonian citizens, be 35 years of age by 1 January 2021 at the latest, be physically fit, etc. The ad said “candidates definitively selected” are required to pay CFA21,500 and the deadline for applications is set for June 21, 2020, at 3 pm.

According to sources at the Port Authority, this is a fake recruitment advertisement set up to scam people. “The Port Authority of Douala has not launched such recruitment. It is a scam. The signature on the document is a scan of an official document that the fraudsters took to deceive people. So it's fake news,” a reliable source said. Also, the mail used on the fake document revealed the scam since PAD generally uses the extension “@pad.com” as on the ad below and not “My.com.”

“My.com” is an international subsidiary of the Mail.ru company which offers games, services, and products related to the Internet. My.com works under the trademarks and services myMail, myChat, myGames, and Maps.Me and is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with a U.S. office in Mountain View, California.
