The Minister of Public Health, Manaouda Malachie, asks relevant administrative authorities to lock four pharmacies and health facilities in Yaoundé.

Pharmacie de la foi is locked for 30 days. Le bon berger Pharmacy will face the same penalty for selling fake chloroquine without authorization and supplying it from an unauthorized supplier.

The Saint Étienne and Horizon Santé health facilities are permanently sealed for illegal practice of pharmacy and possession and sale of fake chloroquine without authorization.

In a circular letter signed on March 23, 2020, the Minister noted that some health professionals advise or prescribe chloroquine as a preventive measure against Covid-19. Although he acknowledged that some recent studies show the effectiveness of the combination of chloroquine and Azithromicin in curative treatment, the member of the government reminds that there is no scientific evidence of the effectiveness of chloroquine in fighting the covid-19.
