A new count from the National Public Health Observatory (ONSP) shows 15 new cases of measles have been detected across the country. Added to the 64 cases detected one week ago, this makes a total of 79 measles cases identified in 27 health districts
According to the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), 5 deaths have already been recorded. A vaccination campaign is scheduled to start today March 2, in the hospitals of the most affected health districts (Yoko, Ntui, and Bafia). "The targets of this campaign are children aged between 6 months and 9 years," says the EPI.
In June 2021, over 200 confirmed and 1300 suspected cases were recorded in seven regions.
