A private entrepreneur has designed an app to promote local tourism. Bryan Pennwoya, the founder of startup Nchimsy Teq, said the TourCMR app is available both on google play and App Store. It gathers detailed information and images of about 145 tourist sites.

“Cameroon is known for its diversity and is certainly a country that must be among the most visited in Africa. And yet, our tourist wealth is not very well known,” the Minister of Tourism and Leisure (Mintoul), Bello Bouba Maigari (pictured) said during the launching ceremony yesterday November 2. This application is another opportunity to reveal Cameroon’s assets as the country is getting ready to host the African Cup of Nations (CAN 2021) which opens on January 9.

TourCMR also provides information about the locations of foreign embassies, hospitals, and police stations in the country, in case of need.
