DGSN Urges Enforcement of Presidential Directives for CEOs, Board Chairs’ Official Travels

Martin Mbarga Nguele, Cameroon’s Delegate General for National Security (DGSN), has issued a radio message to his staff, urging them to strictly enforce regulations governing foreign travel by senior state officials. The message, addressed to commissioners of international airports, autonomous ports, and heads of national security border posts, instructs them to ensure that senior officials of public companies and establishments have the necessary exit authorization from the Head of State before traveling abroad on official business.

This directive follows a warning from the Presidency of the Republic to sanction senior government officials who embark on foreign missions without obtaining the required exit permits. On February 19, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, Secretary General at the Office of the President of the Republic, sent a letter to Magloire Séraphin Fouda, Secretary General at the Office of the Prime Minister. The letter requested him to remind ministers overseeing these public entities of the Head of State’s instructions regarding foreign travel by senior officials.

Ngoh Ngoh further specified that law enforcement officials and airport authorities have been given specific instructions to strictly enforce these presidential directives concerning the departure of senior officials from the country.
