Pierre Zumbach (Photo) is stepping down as Chairman of the Inter-Progress Foundation, as stated in a press release on October 4, 2023. According to the release, at the foundation’s annual board meeting –held in Geneva last August 30, the 93-year-old Swiss indicated he was stepping down because of his advanced age and health conditions. He was then appointed senior advisor, attached to the presidency, with residence in Yaounde.
As Chairman of the Inter-Progress Foundation, he is replaced by 73-year-old Andreas Schweizer. Prior to his appointment, this Swiss electrical engineering specialist was President of the Swiss-African Chamber of Commerce in Basel and a member of the Inter-Progress Foundation Board.
"The Inter-Progress international foundation takes this opportunity to reassure Cameroonian authorities and companies of all sizes of its determination to continue organizing major promotional events by official mandate, as is already the case with the Salon international de l'entreprise, de la PME et du partenariat de Yaoundé (Promote), fête foraine Yaoundé en fête (Yafé) and the Foire internationale des affaires et du commerce de Douala (Fiac)," reads the note announcing this change at the head of the Inter-Progress foundation.
