Minister of Youth and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou, on March 5, opened applications for 60 personnel from his department to undergo specialized advanced military training. The initiative aims to enhance physical and moral aptitudes and skills to effectively counter the rise in uncivil acts, hate speech, and violent extremism.

The application period, open to all Ministry of Youth and Civic Education staff aged 35 or over, runs until March 22. Eligibility criteria include a minimum of one year of seniority, a clean disciplinary record, good character, physical fitness, and no prior convictions.

The call for applications is part of an effort to bolster the implementation of the National Program for Civic Education through Moral, Civic, and Entrepreneurial Rearmament (Pronec-Reamorce). This program aims to instill civic, moral, and ethical values in people. According to the Minister, the goal is to equip staff with the necessary skills and attitudes to supervise the general population, particularly youth, in a context of increasing deviance, incivility, and juvenile delinquency.
