In addition to the current covid-19 crisis, Cameroonians will face food security, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Current analysis shows that despite the deterioration of the food situation in eleven departments in the North-West and South-West regions, no department in Cameroon is currently in a food emergency or famine situation. But according to the program that monitors and strengthens food security in Cameroon, four departments will be in a food crisis over the period July-August 2020.

As a result, it is reported that a bit more than 2 million Cameroonians will be in a food crisis or about 8% of the population. According to the program, this situation could worsen due to the Coronavirus crisis.
