The Motorized Infantry Brigade (BIM) in Buea (Southwest) carried out last week an operation that led to the dismantlement of a separatist camp.
Security sources reported the army destroyed an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) workshop during the operation and seized six of the IEDs. Several suspects were arrested but the leader of the group "General Black Rapen" is still on the loose.
No further details have been provided about this operation, and the army has not indicated whether the militia was involved in the IED attack on Mount Cameroon Ascension on February 25. On that day, as a reminder, three improvised explosive devices were detonated while athletes were climbing Mount Cameroon, leaving 18 people injured. One woman died a few days later from her injuries. The attack has not been claimed.
