In the litoral region, out of the 945 development projects programmed for the 2021 budget year, 103 are not matured while 799 are sufficiently mature for execution and 43 others are still under evaluation.

The data was presented, on September 2, during the first session of regional meetings initiated to improve the maturity of development projects programmed in the Littoral region.

Overall, XAF55.96 billion has been devoted to the 799 mature projects. Specifically, XAF46.82 billion is devoted to 714 projects initiated for decentralized territorial units while 38 (XAF7.96 billion) were programmed in regional directorates and 47 (XAF1.29 billion) for departments.

For Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua, governor of the region, the region still has to improve the execution of public investment projects. The aspects to work on are notably efficient fund use, which is affected when the projects are not mature enough.

For the participants in that session, problems affecting project maturation in the region include recourse to unqualified professionals.
