Mark Bareta, an early separatist activist and leader living in the UK, has condemned the November 6 attack on a neighborhood in the town of Mamfe, in the South West region. For Mark Bareta, the attack on the community, whatever the reason, is unjustifiable.
According to this separatist leader, who has often endorsed armed action by militias in the North-West and South-West regions, "The event in Mamfe [...] is deeply alarming and perilous. The extent of the killings indicates a deliberate and targeted action. Some houses were spared while others were set ablaze."
“It's baffling that, given the presence of multiple military barracks in the vicinity, such a heinous attack could occur,” he wrote on Twitter while promising investigations to uncover “the truth.”
In the early hours of November 6, gunmen attacked Egbekaw in Mamfe. During the raid, 25 people were killed, according to official figures. Several people were also wounded and houses burnt to the ground.
