The minister of transport, Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe, in a March 10 press release encouraged people who follow the preventive measures set to control the spread of the coronavirus and called on those who overlook the measures to comply.

The official prescribes "the systematic and daily disinfection of vehicles, ships, passenger vehicles, infrastructure and all equipment, air terminals, travel agency terminals, aircraft spaces, and offices."

In addition to the prohibition on overloading passengers, which is commonplace in interurban, peri-urban, urban and rural transport, transporters must set up disinfection and temperature control systems. The transport of goods in transit must obey a systematic health control of truck crews, at conventional checkpoints and borders.

According to the communiqué, it is up to officials from the transport ministry, administrative authorities, decentralized territorial communities, and law enforcement agencies to uphold these measures.
