The Ministry of Public Health (Minsanté) is actively preparing for the upcoming medical conference, where Minister Malachie Manaouda intends to conduct a diagnosis of the country's health facilities. The main objective, according to the ministry's communication, is to identify the priorities of these health facilities, particularly as the government continues to transfer health competencies to decentralized local authorities (CTD).

The 2016-2027 Health Sector Strategy has highlighted low funding mobilization as a significant constraint in the development of Cameroon's healthcare system. This situation has been exacerbated by the global financial crises, which have limited the availability of external funding, and the decrease in external funding due to the withdrawal of certain donors. Additionally, the poverty of the population has further limited financial resources for health facilities.

The Cameroon Hospitals Conference is an annual event that brings together the country's healthcare professionals to discuss the challenges and advances in the national health system.
