The Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) has set up, in collaboration with the Ministry of Secondary Education (Minesec), a working group to promote football among young people. The collaboration was made public last April 12 during a meeting in Yaoundé between Samuel Eto'o Fils, president of Fecafoot, and Pauline Nalova Lyonga, the Minesec.
The group will be responsible for identifying young talent in high schools. It will also help fight violence and vandalism in schools amid recent episodes of assaults on teachers by students. As a priority, the Fecafoot-Minesec collaboration will focus on selecting Cameroon’s representative for the Pan-African inter-school championship that will take place next December in a country yet to be determined.
