The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has released a statistical report on the recent flooding in the departments of Mayo-Danay, Mayo-Tsanaga, and Logone-et-Chari. The institution found that more than 314,000 people were affected by the floods last year, and more than 113,324 were forcefully displaced.

To make matters worse, agriculture and livestock were also affected, with over 48,000 hectares of fields destroyed and 10,566 animals lost. As a result, many families have been pushed into humanitarian distress, but the government is still struggling to get support from international donors, who are more focused on the Ukrainian case, we learned.
