Kicked off on September 9, 2020, the 18th edition of the Vacation Without AIDS campaign, an initiative launched in 2003 by Chantal Biya, pays particular attention to the covid-19 pandemic. The campaign gathers about 600 peer educators to raise awareness among the population all over the national territory. It aims to reach about 700,000 young people.
“The interest of young people in issues related to AIDS and the new coronavirus is remarkable,” said Jean Stéphane Biatcha, the Executive Secretary of Synergies africaines contre le sida et les souffrances, an NGO created by the wife of the President of the Republic.
This edition also focuses on digital communication with the creation of a Facebook page as well as WhatsApp groups.
