Covid-19: Cameroon hits 4 months with no new case (WHO)

Cameroon has reached 4 months without recording any new cases of Covid-19. Since October 19, 2022, no new cases have emerged, the World Health Organization said.

As a reminder, on that day, authorities reported 66 new cases, bringing the number of existing cases to 123,993. Although the situation seems under control, Health Minister Malachie Manaouda continues to call on the population to get vaccinated. "I, myself, took my 5th dose of vaccine (today) to stay protected against the disease. Be like me, take a booster to maintain your protection," he tweeted last October.

In December last year, about 2 million people received doses of vaccine during a 10-day vaccination campaign. For this year, authorities plan to include the Covid-19 vaccine in routine immunization.
