For the 2020-2021 academic year, 30,032 students registered at Dschang University. This includes 1,376 foreign students. Compared with the number of students who registered for the 2019-2020 school year, this number represents an increase of 419 students or 1.41%.

For Roger Tsafack Nanfosso, rector of the university located in the Western region, the previous academic year ended with splendid achievement in terms of infrastructure, research, development, employment, and academic results.

With a total of 29,613 learners for the 2019-2020 academic year, the University of Dschang recorded a passing rate of 85%. The passing rate was complemented by 197 defended theses, 50 of which were defended via videoconference, the rector indicates with delight. Even though he is not providing figures to support his claim, he explains that "the adequacy between training and employment has enabled many graduates to land good jobs."

For the new academic year, the university plans to maintain the same academic standards. With the recruitment of new professors and the multiple changes of degrees, the University of Dschang currently has 618 professors, 222 of whom are high-ranking. This equals a ratio of one teacher for every 41 students, which is higher than the ratio of one teacher for every 61 students the university recorded the previous academic year.

In a context marked by the Covid-19 health crisis, Dschang University also has to deal with health measures. According to the rector, the ideal will be to have an academic year free from Covid-19. "Out of the 800 tests carried out, no positive case has been detected so far. This is a great advance compared to the past when 12 positive cases and two deaths were recorded out of 200 tests performed," he explains.
