On October 20, 2021, Mouliom Mazou (photo), chairman of the Cameroonian Association for the Defense of Taxpayers' Rights (ACDC), sent a letter to the director-general of taxation. In his letter, he explained that Cameroon’s bilingual status was not taken into account during the tax payment system digitalization process.
For Mouliom Mazou, although the platform bears an English name (Harmony), the entire process is in French.
"The members of the Cameroon Association for the Defense of the Rights of English-speaking Taxpayers and other taxpayers are embarrassed by this situation because they are forced to rely on third parties for their tax declarations and payments," he indicated. The ACDC then asked the general tax directorate to publish an English version of the platform and the documentation generated through it.
