Several regions in Cameroon, including the East, Northwest and Southwest are at risk of flooding and landslide, according to forecasts from the National Meteorological Department (DMN).

Rains are expected in most parts of the country. However, the “North and Far North regions will be partly cloudy with risks of light to moderate thundery rain,” the weather bulletin revealed. DMN warned that these rains could cause flooding and landslides along unstable slopes due to cumulative rainfall. As a reminder, on March 18, mudslides following heavy rains killed at least one person in Buea, and on April 9 in Lagdo, four people died in a storm.

On the other hand, high temperatures are expected in some cities, such as Kousseri (43°C).
