Some fake Facebook accounts have been opened bearing the name of Abbas Mahamat Tolli, Governor of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC). Beware, these fraudsters aim to scam innocent victims.

In a statement published on April 13, 2020, the central bank indicated that the governor had no Facebook account.  

Therefore, any information published by the fake accounts should not be trusted, the BEAC informs adding that it “reserves the right to take legal action” against the fraudsters.

Internet users should thus beware, the BEAC recommends.
