Beware, the Ministry of Mines has only two official websites

Paru le mardi, 30 juin 2020 17:21

Recently, five additional websites appeared online confusing users who want to access the Ministry of Mines' official website. These websites are namely  www.minmidtcm.com,  www.minmidt-gov.net ,  www.ministryofminescm.com ,  minmidtcam.com, and min-midt-gov.com.

When contacted, the ministry informed that these websites were truly “fake websites created for criminal purposes.

When users try to access the first fake website, the message that appears is that the browser is unable to find the server’s address. The second shows the number “+ 237 681 129 081,” an individual’s, as the ministry’s contact number while official websites usually have a landline. The third website shows a popup message inciting users to contact the number “+237673 660 992,” also a cell phone number, for inquiries. The same applies to the fourth website that asks users to call the cellphone number “+ 237 676 628 976”. For the fifth website, it is outright inaccessible.

Minister Gabriel Dodo Ndoke is warning users that "his ministry could not be held responsible for any information taken from the above-mentioned sites or any other website.” We also learn that "investigations are underway to identify the individuals behind the above-mentioned fake websites."

The official websites of the Ministry of Mines, Industry and Technological Development are "www.minmidt.gov.cm" and "www.minmidt.cm".
