Beware of the Facebook phishing scheme pretending to recruit staff for Carrefour Cameroon

Paru le vendredi, 13 novembre 2020 16:24

A job ad recently appeared on Facebook claiming that Carrefour Cameroon is recruiting. Users are invited to submit their "spontaneous application" by clicking on a link. Once they click on that link, they are invited to provide their personal information (name, date of birth, marital status, academic background, career path...). They are also required to enter their Facebook logins to let the recruiters contact them when the time comes.

Beware! This is a phishing scheme. Scammers are using Carrefour’s visual identities to get unsuspecting job seekers’ confidential information like Facebook logins and bank details.

"Beware! Some of our clients are victims of attempted scams by telephone or the Internet. We invite you to visit our sites and pages to check the validity of the proposed offers," the company wrote on its official Facebook page, which can be identified thanks to the blue badge that certifies the identity of the page.
