Beware! CNPS issues scam alert targeting pension recipients

Paru le vendredi, 14 juillet 2023 15:54

The National Social Security Fund (CNPS) warns its insured individuals against calls from the following numbers 677 794 550, 650 668 377, 681 860 060, 676 983 323, 673 992 325, and 652 598 102.

In a statement signed, Thursday (July 13), by its director general, Noël Alain Olivier Mekulu Mvondo Akame, the fund explains that the calls are from "unscrupulous individuals" who have unfortunately made a few victims already. They impersonate CNPS personnel, asking payment beneficiaries to transfer the funds received from the CNPS to some mobile money accounts.

The director general then urges clients to exercise utmost caution and report such acts "so that the perpetrators can be brought to justice." Fake advisors, fraudulent calls, or text messages... telephone scams are increasing and usually target vulnerable individuals such as the elderly. Vigilance is the first rule to avoid falling victim to scammers and avoid being deceived.
